We begin in France where police are investigating another daring art heist.
This time on the French Riviera.
It took thieves less than 5 minutes to break into the Renoir Museum near Nice Tuesday morning and take four paintings by legendary French impressionist Pierre August Renoir.
But police responded fast as the thieves fled.
Authorities say they abandoned two of the paintings in the museum garden.
Two others are still missing.
According to federal officials, there have been 22 museum thefts across the country since the infamous Louv jewelry heist last October.
Our Melissa Bell has more from Paris.
Thieves have stolen four paintings, abandoning two as they fled from France's Museum in the latest heist to hit the art world.
A large hole can be seen in this wired fence surrounding the museum.
The impressionist painters Madame Kolon Romano worth $2.3 million and Jean Famui worth $230,000 were stolen on Tuesday according to local officials in the French Riviera town of Kur where the museum's located.
The thieves were forced to abandon portra Madame Stfan Pishon and Kulison as they fled according to the town's mayor.
He also said the museum's alarm system went off at 5:48 local time and that police had arrived at the scene 5 minutes later.
>> They were equipped with, if I may say so, an electric knife or a metal saw, whatever you want to call it.
They cut through the bolts holding the frames of Renoir's paintings in place.
The arrival of the municipal police along with the sirens from the museum and the police caused the burglars to rush off.
They stole only four of the 12 works in the Renoir Museum.
They fled by running through the gardens and it seems dropped two works along the way.
In a statement, the mayor's office said that the museum had been targeted, quote, by several individuals who were clearly organized, equipped, and wellinformed, adding that the museum's security system had been triggered as soon as they entered the museum's gardens.
The latest heist comes nearly a year after the Louvre was targeted in an audacious raid.
Video footage captured thieves in yellow vests on the second floor of the Louvre after they'd forced open a window.
They managed to grab nine priceless items and fled back down a truck mounted ladder, all in just 4 minutes.
Police recovered the angle grinder and a torch that were used to force open the window.
One piece, the crown of the Empress Eugenie, the wife of Napoleon III, was dropped and found very quickly.
But the eight other pieces remain missing.

>> Now to North Carolina, where nearly 300 people have been evaluated for possible exposure to rabies after interacting with baby goats.
Rabies is a serious viral disease that attacks the brain and nervous system.
It's most commonly spread when saliva from an infected animal enters the body, usually through a bite or scratch.
Officials say a mobile petting zoo, the kind that people sometimes rent for birthday parties or events, took the animals throughout the state and visited at least 10 locations last month.
Our Jacqueline Howard is on the story.
>> Health officials in North Carolina say they've already evaluated nearly 300 people for rabies after those people interacted with baby goats from the mobile petting zoo.
Now, the baby goats, they belong to a farm called Farm Adventures based in Harmony, North Carolina.
And between July 28th and August 27th, this mobile zoo traveled across the state visiting at least 10 locations.
We're talking about assisted living facilities, private parties, and even a back- to-school bash.
And health officials say if you or your children had contact with the baby goats from Farm Adventures during that time, call your local health department immediately for a rabies risk assessment.
To be clear, there is no broad risk to the general public, but for those exposed, it's important to get evaluated.
So far, at least 284 people have been evaluated and state of health officials have already recommended post-exposure prophylaxis care, including rabies shots for 213 of those who were evaluated.
Remember, rabies is typically deadly if left untreated.
But prophylaxis care is considered nearly 100% effective if you get it before symptoms start.
And early symptoms can take up to two months to develop.
They include flu-l like symptoms like headache and weakness as well as irritation if you've been bitten.
So irritation at that bite site.
So don't wait if you think you may have been exposed.
